Good health is vital to child development and well-being. Nevada has struggled with a high rate of uninsured children and many more without access to preventive pediatric care. We recognize that access to healthcare improves the likelihood that children will be able to take advantage of the medical prevention and intervention that can improve their overall lives. We know that children with access to healthcare are more likely to attend school regularly, to focus in class, participate in extracurricular activities, and live healthier lives.
Voting is essential to improving children’s health outcomes in Nevada, as it directly influences the policies and funding related to healthcare, nutrition, and wellness programs for the state’s youth.
By electing leaders who prioritize children’s health, Nevada can expand access to prenatal care, mental health services, and early screenings and treatment for certain disorders that affect Nevada’s children.
Through voting, citizens can push for policies that ensure all children, regardless of their background, have access to the healthcare resources needed for a healthy start in life, laying the groundwork for stronger, healthier communities across the state.
